Review: WWE NXT (10/12/16)

There were two moments during the NXT show that I found interesting and entertaining.

Bobby Roode & Tye Dillinger v. SAnitY

This match was a first round elimination in the Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team classic tournament.  Bobby Roode made his “Glorious” arrival followed by Tye Dillinger.  SAnitY made their NXT wrestling debut; the four members entered the ring and the two scheduled to wrestle were Alexander Wolfe & Sawyer Fulton. c577c524750469ee83484af1be3c835c_crop_exact

Wolfe and Fulton attacked Dillinger without mercy.  Wolfe beats Dillinger and then tags Fulton who continues the annihilation of Dillinger.  Roode, with his robe still on, enters the ring looking ready to take action when Wolfe enters the ring.  Wolfe and Roode give each other the stare down.  Roode steps out of the ring and backs up the ramp.  We can hear Dillinger say, “Bobby,” before he is put in a devastating finishing move.  SAnitY gets the win.

One of the mystery members beats up a defeated Dillinger and then reveals herself…it’s Nikki Cross.  The other member delivers additional devastation and then reveals himself…it’s Eric Young.

Later backstage, Bobby Roode is asked why he abandoned Dillinger.  Roode indicated that he is a singles wrestler and Dillinger was the one who begged him to enter the tournament.  He also indicated that if Dillinger is hurt then he caused it on himself.

SAnitY looks pretty impressive and we will have an interesting rivalry between Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger…glorious.

The Return of Shinsuke Nakamura

The last match was Blake vs. Murphy.  While the match was going on outside of the ring, Samoa Joe interferes by beating up both Blake and Murphy.  Samoa Joe enters the ring and tells William Regal that time is up either he gets his rematch with Shinsuke Nakamura or he gets the NXT championship belt back.  We hear Nakamura’s entrance music and the return of Nakamura.  The crowd gave him such a pop.

Nakamura takes off his neck brace and fights Joe.  NXT security enter ringside to break up the altercation only to have Nakamura take out all of security.  Joe was relentless in his effort to beat down the NXT Champion only to fall victim to the Kinshasa.  This rivalry has grown bigger than both men.  With Nakamura back, it is only a matter of time before these two giants collide for the NXT title.
